Here…
the water is salty.
the wine is delightful.

the pastry is outstanding.
it’s a lovely blend of quiet and boisterous.
it’s so reminiscent of Greece.
our accommodations are made for 2 in a most perfect way.
the walkways can be slippery. Shoes with some grip on the sole are my recommendation.
the beaches are more rock/stone than sand. This may mean another pairs of shoes for you to pack – water shoes of some sort.
the area we’re in is the “old town” and we haven’t really ventured very far from our apartment in either direction of the coast. We’ve covered 10,000+ steps each day, but it’s basically been between home and beach and food. Perfetto!
the town is small and during our time here we repeatedly encountered people from the table next to us at dinner at the beach the following day. Or at the gelato place or a shop. I had observed lots of greeting, honking and waving between folks on the streets when I went out on my daily pastry walks and being able to greet familiar faces made me feel almost like a local.
is a place I like. It feels like our time has passed quickly, but tomorrow brings the next adventure – the train to Monopoli to catch a train to Lecce where will take a cab to the rental car pickup location. Final stop for the day is Lueca, “our” home near another set of beaches for a few nights.
Ciao for now.
