It’s been a while since I’ve written anything about the current state of this country and the global impact of the worst president ever. That isn’t because I stopped paying attention or have been lobotomized to the state of a MAGA believer or have simply forgotten my opposition to this regime.
Oh, no. That’s not it at all.
I think I have been so traumatized by the actions of the White House and the complete lack of genuine resistance by elected representatives that I now find myself speechless.
My voice has been lost, a state not to be confused with the pathetic silence and impotency of Congress and courts. Those people have abandoned their responsibilities, ethics and voices.
We’re about 16 months into DJT’s term and the entire world is suffering from the shoot from the hip style of governance wielded by this inept administration. No stone has been left unturned when it comes to revealing the utter lack of competence of every single member of Trump’s Cabinet – from the frat boy FBI head to the quack health secretary to the anchorman leader of the war department.
Every single one of them is serving a single master, (beyond their own egos), and spoiler, it’s not you.
It seems that, perhaps, DJT did learn something from his failed foray into the casino business because we are living in a country that feels like a virtual shell game. Our attention is constantly being drawn to situations, frequently ones which are violent or seemingly occurring out of nowhere, while our day to day lives are being consistently eroded.
Look here where we’re abducting foreign leaders and bombing fishing boats, while literally billions of our dollars are being allocated to slush funds for the feeble minded members of the MAGA cult who willingly do whatever their leader tells them to do. As the government shreds the very fabric of this country, one which is multicolored and diverse, it is simultaneously erecting statues, arches and wings on public buildings to honor the pathetic excuse of a man who the truly ignorant chose to vote for and believe in.
Gas, groceries, healthcare, travel, housing, utilities – the cost of all of these expenses has increased and families are being forced to make difficult decisions.
And we’re further from being great than ever before.
I’m struggling to live in a country where the priorities of accumulating wealth, ignoring science and facts, unabashed imperialism and asserting white supremacy, are so incredibly opposed to my own beliefs.
I can’t understand why anyone continues to support this clown car administration and I don’t know how we, as Americans, can ever come back from this.
To everyone who voted for this, I hope you one day truly understand that you were donned conned and that there is no art of the deal, just the steal.
