No, I’m not talking about the legendary marijuana I recall (hearing about) from my youth, I’m speaking about a special event this week at The Aviary in Kinderhook.
Remember a few weeks ago when it felt like the entire world was on fire? While the tragedy in Lahaina may no longer be in the headlines, residents of that historic and extremely expensive area are struggling with their most basic needs.
In response to the catastrophe in Hawaii, The Aviary is featuring a special menu inspired by chef Hannah Wong’s January, 2023 trip to Maui. The menu, the exclusive offering for the evening, is pictured below. Fifteen percent of all sales will be donated to food banks on Maui to help assist residents who have have lost everything.
For the record, my Albanian friends, Kinderhook is a quicker drive than Saratoga – bonus that Samascott Orchards is along the way so you can score near the end of the season peaches and the first of the fall’s apples. Come on, down to Kinderhook. As they say locally, it’s all OK.
